Recently I've been looking for inspiration with my photography, spending countless amount of hours on tumblr and random blogs finding loads of really interesting magazines and websites. I've noticed that I have a recent tendency to swing towards a lot of things based around Japanese culture. I'm not sure whether its the fact that its just so far from British culture and so completely different or the fact that a large majority of Japanese people I see in these magazines display amazing style and taste.

Anyway I've rounded up a a short (but sweet) list of some of my most favourite finds...

1) Popeye Magazine stood out for me straight away, it has become something of a classic in the fashion magazine realm and it's not too hard to see why. Its bright, bold texts and simple arrangement create something nice and easy to look at. Upon opening it up you're greeted by some of the nicest, well thought out images I've seen in a magazine. Popeye is definitely worth investing in.

2) The Thousand's is an Australian based website showcasing a range of articles from cafe reviews to photo diaries. Its uncluttered layout makes it easy to navigate and the city guides make for a really interesting read.

3) Brutus is quite similar to Popeye although it seems a lot more focused on design and culture based on looking through a few. I haven't been able to locate a copy yet but going on from what I've seen online it looks very interesting. Although like Popeye it's all in Japanese so I tend to use it for inspiration with regards to my photography.

4) Too Much Magazine is another Japanese magazine however this is almost entirely in English. It is solely focused on design, architecture, travel and everything in-between. Getting a close look at a range of cultures and many opinions, it reminds me of something like Monocle Magazine and I plan on grabbing myself a few copies.
